Abstract

All the beauty is revealed when sunlight shines on the statue of Polymnia, one of the nine Muses in ancient Greek mythology, masked with snow in winter and then liberated in all its splendor from the white cloak by bright sunshine. The parallel light ‐ induced transformation is depicted by the chemical formulae. Irradiation of colorless Rhodamines NN, masked fluorescent dyes, with UV or visible light irreversibly “releases” the hidden colors in all their depth and vibrant fluorescence.
