Abstract
- The article discusses the involvement of librarians in the copyright policy as they develop expertise to deal with several issues that relate to copyright law and library users. Topics discussed include the public interest stake in Canada's copyright regime and the Canadian Association of Research Libraries' (CARL) Policy Statement on Freedom of Expression which states the responsibility of research libraries to make available materials supporting the scholarly pursuits of their communities.
