Abstract

The article discusses adaptation of spider genus Anelosimus in any particular environment due to their natural selection, social groups and genetic traits. It talks about an experiment where spider colonies were created that had different group sizes of aggressive and docile female spiders for testing survival and reproduction process. Topics include relationship between group selection and kin selection, evolution of altruism, possibility of extinction due to egg cannibalism.
