Uprising: Less prestigious journals publishing greater share of high-impact papers.

The article discusses the findings of a study by the Google Scholar Team which shows an increase in publication of highly-cited papers by non-elite journals. It notes Google Scholar's analysis of academic publishing by non-elite journals which was posted at 27 percent in 1995 to 47 percent in 2013. It cites that non-elite journals accounted for a 133 percent increase in Computer Science citations, while citations for Physics & Mathematics grew by 204 percent.
