Abstract
- The article discusses a quarterly 1.6% decline in same-store sales in China sustained by retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Wal-Mart executive Scott Price said efforts by the Chinese government to curb excessive consumption at state-owned businesses was having an effect on Wal-Mart. Stiffer competition in the retail sector has also been a factor.
