The aim of this paper is to present the major areas of changes in the methods and tools of the computer support of enterprises. The most important aspects of the application of information technologies for enterprises as well as problems related to the management of these enterprises have been discussed. Selected tools of analysis and modelling of the enterprises and their processes, the relations between the improvement of enterprises and the processes of the maintenance of IT systems as well as the methods of flexible software architectures construction have been evaluated. Selected software of enterprises and the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) have been used to present the possibilities of computerization of enterprises oriented to cooperate within logistic chains.
