Abstract
- The authors discuss the study on the impacts of opiate substitution treatment (OST) in lessening the risk of hepatitis C virus (HCV). They mention that OST averts infections having projections from Great Britain which suggest that OST high coverage levels might have contributed to lessening the chronic HCV prevalence. They say that it appears that there needs to be no argument in scaling-up OST because economic analyses recommend that OST could be cost-saving.
