Abstract
- This essay, reprinted from an earlier volume of the journal, presents an examination into the writing style of the late 17th-century English author Hannah More, examining how she used artistry to make her didactic literature popular. Topics addressed include her conservative views on English drama and its faults, an overview of her criticism of vice, love story plotting and artifice in literature, and the development of More's style in her writing of tracts.
