Abstract

The article describes the case of an otherwise healthy 3-week-old African American male who developed a temperature of 38.9 degrees Celsius and mild respiratory distress. He was admitted to the inpatient general pediatric wards for concern of sepsis in light of neonatal fever with lung opacities and was recommended to take meropenem and vancomycin to widen antibiotic coverage. The article discusses the clinical manifestations of chronic granulomatous disease (CGD).
