Abstract
- The article discusses issues concerning educational inequity in the U.S. resulting from the reliance of the education system on local funding. Topics covered include importance of community and parent involvement in fostering local investment in educational opportunities and the efforts of some school districts to address problems caused by school-based foundations and commercial fundraising.
