Abstract: A technique has been developed to determine free and peptide-bound hydroxyproline in blood serum. It is based on the principle of chloramine oxidation of hydroxyproline and condensation of oxidation products with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde. Data on changes in the serum level of hydroxyproline in children with acute pneumonia and in pregnant women are presented.
