Abstract
- A case of transitional cloacogenic carcinoma of the urethra in a 70-year-old woman is reported. Due to incomplete removal of the tumor and reluctancy to undergo extensive surgery, the patient also received external radiation and afterloading with cobalt-60. The patient is alive with no evidence of disease 7 years after the diagnosis, which may suggest that postoperative radiation as outlined should be considered in elderly women with urethral carcinoma.
