Abstract

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement is an emerging therapeutic alternative for patients with severe aortic valve stenosis and high surgical risk. The inability to reposition the current prosthesis is a limiting feature of these devices. Here we report on a case of a 74-year-old woman, in which a balloon expandable aortic valve malpositioning was treated with a second transapical transcatheter aortic valve implant.<br /> (Copyright (c) 2010 The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
