[Factors influencing the postpartal course of children with gastroschisis].

Based on twelve cases of gastroschisis in newborn babys it has been possible to demonstrate that both, the time elapsed between birth and surgery, and adequate protection against heat loss, have a profound influence on postoperative recovery. To ensure a planned birth the cesarean section is to be preferred to vaginal delivery. The importance of a primarily correct post natal care is discussed.
