Abstract
- Three of 254 patients with Eizenmenger's syndrome had complications, namely bleeding during and after surgery of open lung biopsy. Histopathologic study of the lung in patients suffering from complications revealed that destruction of the collateral vessels characterized by wide lumen and weak walls is responsible for the postoperative bleeding. Such complications can be prevented by using the TA stapler which cuts off the lung tissue with little or no damage to the other lung tissues.
