Abstract
- Basing on the enzymatic and histochemical studies of more than 800 CNS tumours the possibility of application of these methods for the morphologic diagnosis of brain tumour is evaluated. Acid glial fibrillar protein and pituitary hormones were found to be of special value as histochemical markers. Such enzymohistochemical studies may become valuable for solving clinical and diagnostic problems only when they are combined with other morphologic methods of investigation.
