Abstract

We present the synthesis, structure, and electrochemistry of K <subscript>3</subscript> [Mo <subscript>2</subscript> (SNO5) <subscript>4</subscript> Cl] <subscript>3</subscript> [Mo <subscript>2</subscript> (SNO5) <subscript>4</subscript> ] (1, HSNO5 = monothiosuccinimide), the first example of a heterometallic extended metal atom node (HEMAN). The HEMAN consists of two perpendicular, intersecting lines of metal atoms formed by three [Mo <subscript>2</subscript> (SNO5) <subscript>4</subscript> Cl] <superscript>-</superscript> units and one [Mo <subscript>2</subscript> (SNO5) <subscript>4</subscript> ] unit tethered together by K <superscript>+</superscript> ions.
