Pharmacological difficulties in the treatment of asthma in pregnant women.

Introduction: This is a review of the diagnosis and management of asthma in the pregnant patient. Asthma may adversely affect both maternal quality of life and, perinatal outcomes. Optimal management of asthma is thus important for both mother and baby. Areas covered: Special attention is paid to the challenges in diagnosis and management of asthma during pregnancy.
