Abstract

Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a systemic vasculitis affecting the small vessels that mainly presents in children and young adults. It is characterized by tissue deposition of immunoglobulin A (IgA) immune complexes with the classic manifestations of purpura, arthritis, arthralgia, and gastrointestinal and renal involvements. We report a case of HSP nephritis that occurred 2 years after living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT). After pulse steroid administration, the patient's symptoms disappeared and blood markers normalized. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first HSP case to be reported in a liver transplant recipient.<br /> (Copyright © 2018 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.)
