Abstract

Medulloblastoma is the most common childhood malignant brain tumor and is considered a minor criterion in the diagnosis of nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS). Metastasis of this primitive neuroectodermal tumor is most commonly neuraxial; however, extra-neuraxial metastases have been reported. Extra-neuraxial metastasis to the jaws is a rare occurrence, with only 8 cases previously reported in the literature. The present report documents a unique case of metastatic medulloblastoma to the mandible in a patient with a previous diagnosis of NBCCS.<br /> (Published by Elsevier Inc.)
