Abstract

Pulmonary endarterectomy is the treatment of choice for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. This case report outlines the importance of venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and plasmapheresis as two important options in the management of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia-positive patients requiring urgent pulmonary endarterectomy.<br /> (Copyright © 2020 The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
