Abstract

We examine the short-term and long-term causal effects between epidemics and electricity CO <subscript>2</subscript> emissions by using panel data from 30 countries over the period of 1990 to 2017. The results show that there is bidirectional relationship between epidemics and electricity CO <subscript>2</subscript> emissions, especially in OECD and Asian countries.<br /> (© Springer Nature B.V. 2020.)
