Abstract: Abstract: Many things are associated with decreased health and lifespan, including cancer, diabetes, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, and chronic inflammatory conditions. Clinicians may not be familiar with the role that mitochondrial mutations and associated mitochondrial dysfunction play in a shortened lifespan.
