Abstract
- Reaction of the 1,2,4,5-tetrazine (tz˙ <superscript>-</superscript> ) radical and {Cp* <subscript>2</subscript> Tb} <superscript>+</superscript> has yielded a tetranuclear radical-bridged Tb <superscript>III</superscript> single-molecule magnet. The strong Ln-radical coupling and the electronic differences of the Tb <superscript>III</superscript> ions in [(Cp* <subscript>2</subscript> Tb) <subscript>4</subscript> (tz˙ <superscript>-</superscript> ) <subscript>4</subscript> ]·3C <subscript>6</subscript> H <subscript>6</subscript> (1) are probed via magnetic, magneto-optical and computational studies.
