Abstract

A patient presenting with acute ischemic stroke associated with patent foramen ovale (PFO) had concurrent deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and new-onset atrial fibrillation. Upon initiation of anticoagulation therapy, the patient developed hemorrhagic transformation of the stroke. The patient's multiple potential sources of embolic stroke were treated with concomitant left atrial appendage occlusion and PFO closure through the PFO, made possible by using the Steerable Amulet Sheath under 3D-intracardiac echocardiography guidance.<br /> (© 2024 The Author(s).
