Abstract

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematologic malignancy characterized by the clonal proliferation of plasma cells within the bone marrow. Accurate staging and monitoring of disease progression are crucial for effective management. PET imaging has emerged as a powerful tool in the diagnosis and management of MM, with radiotracers like 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose and novel agents playing a pivotal role. This review explores the current state of PET imaging in multiple myeloma, focusing on its role in initial staging, response assessment, and prognosis prediction, with an emphasis on recent advancements.<br /> (Copyright © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
