Abstract

Numerous genomic-based early detection screening tests are being developed. These tests have the potential to revolutionize current single-organ screening paradigms, especially in gastrointestinal cancers. In this review, we underscore the performance of these genomic-based early detection tests based on prospective clinical trials. Moreover, we discuss a professional advancement for gastroenterologists in the diagnostic assessment of individuals who are cancer signal positive.<br />Competing Interests: Conflicts of interest: In compliance with the ICMJE uniform disclosure form, all authors declare the following: Payment/services info: All authors have declared that no financial support was received from any organization for the submitted work.
