Abstract
- The present paper deals with the pathology of germ cell tumors of the ovary, including dysgerminoma, endodermal sinus tumor, embryonal carcinoma, polyembryoma, choriocarcinoma, teratomas, and mixed germ cell tumors. A general introduction to the respective tumors, prognosis, gross and microscopic features, differential diagnosis, and immunoenzyme histochemical findings are included. Among the various germ cell tumors, dysgerminoma showed the highest incidence comprising about one-half of reported cases. Excluding mature teratomas, the prognosis for dysgerminoma proved to be the best.
