Abstract
- Large defects of the lower leg and foot have been reconstructed using abdominal, cross-leg, and cross-foot skin flaps, as well as muscle, myocutaneous, and free vascularized flaps. We describe a technique of using an ipsilateral tensor fascia lata myocutaneous flap for reconstruction of total loss of the heel. Its advantages over other methods are outlined.
