Abstract

In recent years, research in the area of regional economic development has become a subject of serious public interest. This interest has developed through the recognized need for economic planning at the community level. Assessment of economic progress at the regional level has been attempted with various analytical methods. One of the more successful of these methods has been the input-output technique. This study has been an attempt to abridge the significant facets of the input-output technique and to provide a take-off point from which one may perform an input-output study on a regional basis.
