Abstract

This study was concerned with an analysis of some methods and procedures used in the teaching of first-year bookkeeping in the high schools of New Mexico. The following items were considered significant to the main problem: 1. factors related to bookkeeping; 2. procedures and devices used in teaching bookkeeping; 3. teaching approaches; 4. specific methods; 5. business papers related to the teaching of bookkeeping; and 6. personal-use bookkeeping. Furthermore, this study was intended to furnish teachers and administrators with practical information that may be of benefit in improving the present status of bookkeeping in the high schools of New Mexico.
