Abstract

The author offers his views on the issue of identity theft. He notes the difficulty and complexities involved in solving identity theft, and raises several definitions of the offense based on the United Nations (UN) Handbook on Identity-related Crime. He infers that identity theft is not a new concept with similar acts referenced in section 32 of the Larceny Act 1913, sections 15 and 16 of the Theft Act 1968, and Section 2 of the Fraud Act 2006.
