Abstract

The article presents the updates of guidelines for transabdominal pre-peritoneal (TAPP) laparoscopic and totally extraperitoneal (TEP) endoscopic treatment of inguinal hernia from medical organization International Endohernia Society. Topics covered by the updates include evidence for antibiotic and thromboembolic prophylaxis in endoscopic/laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery. Other topics include functional outcome and quality of life in TAPP and TEP, and mesh fixation modalities.
