Abstract

Global business environment changes constantly regardless of the branch of industry. The major challenge for companies is to define the correct priorities for investments. To achieve long-term success, sensing market requirements and generating correct responses is vital. Therefore, it's important to interpret the weak signals what customers are providing. Interpreting these signals is rather simple when the number of customers is small. The challenges begin when the amount of data rises to uncontrollable. This research is focused on the global service business, with the purpose of collecting and interpreting information from the changing market. The research is based on the sense-and- respond methods, which are developed to gather and analyse information from the environment and to support companies in decision-making and resource allocation. Results are validated with case company's decision-makers. Methods have potential to be valuable tool for predicting and analyzing current and future market requirements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
