Abstract
- The article focuses on food waste in the U.S. and the innovative approach of several organizations to reduce it. Topics discussed include innovations reducing the creation of food waste, the automated in-orchard apple sorting technology developed by the Agricultural Research Service of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and technologies that recover wholesome excess food to feed people or recycle food waste for animal feed.
