Abstract: The article provides country risk forecasts for France as of June 2014. It examines the implications of the defeat of former prime minister Jean-Marc Ayrault by Francois Hollande in the March 2014 elections. Other topics discussed include the views of the Parti Socialiste (PS) and the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) in the role of the private sector in improving the business climate, the real gross domestic product (GDP) growth, and statistics on economic indicators in 2009-2013.
