Additional Mechanisms May Aid Federal Tax-Debt Detection.

The article presents a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the eligibility of federal employees and contractors who had unpaid federal tax debts for national security clearances. GAO identified additional mechanisms which could help federal agencies detect tax debts. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) is encouraged by GAO to work with other agencies to collect federal debt information for national security clearance evaluation.
