- A literary analysis of the novels "Beloved" and "Song of Solomon" by Toni Morrison is presented. It focuses on how Morrison uses references and allusions to Africa and African cultural practices, memorialization, and history to establish a collective "Africaness," or blackness, in the American Midwest.
