Abstract
- The article discusses the impact of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, a resolution passed by the U.S. Congress on January 13, 2014 which directs the government and its agencies to oppose any financial or policy support to large dams, on the World Bank's policy of dam funding. International Rivers policy director Peter Bosshard says the Congress decision shows a shift of public funding from large dams to new renewable energy solutions. An overview of the resolution is also given.
