Abstract
- The main (global and regional) Cretaceous events that affected the formation of the Jiamusi-Bureya fragment of the East Asian continental margin are considered to compile a consistent tectonic-sedimentation model of its evolution. The key objects of this margin are the Bureya and Hegang basins, where the epoch of Cretaceous coal accumulation is best expressed. The comparative analysis revealed their similarity. Both the basins were formed in the grabens at the riftogenic stage of the almost amagmatic continental margin. They are characterized by a single Hauterivian-Aptian stage of coal formation as confirmed by new stratigraphic data. Both basins are rich in coal and gas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
