Abstract

The article presents a case study of 62-year-old woman who had a 10-day history of itchy eczematous lesions around her eyes, neck and cheeks. It states that the patient has applied Gamila secret, a cosmetic oil, that contains plant extracts including Nigella sativa seed oil and Inula helenium extract. An overview of the use of Laurus nobilis, an aromatic evergreen tree, in various cosmetic products due to its claimed anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-oxidant effects is also offered.
