Abstract

Three main ways of how renewable energy is currently used in rural China are described in detail: biomass energy, solar energy and small hydro-power. The difficulties faced in their promotion are analyzed, such as lack of policy, lack of technical personnel, single financing channels and inadequate research efforts. Some constructive suggestions are provided, which have important theoretical significance and practical value for developing renewable energy in rural China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
