Intersecting Lives: Critics and the Literature of American Multicultural Identity.

The article examines how literary critics address identity when conceptualizing the relationship between an individual and the historical, cultural, and social conditions in which they are presented in American literature. It goes on to discuss how the the growth of multicultural literature offers more opportunity for exploration of American identity.
