Abstract
- This introduction clarifies the importance of the subject: comparative sociology of examinations, on the basis that stimulating insights on examinations have been offered by prominent sociologists, and that this subject will encourage self-reflection of sociology. It also explains how this special issue arises from a joint session in ISA World Congress of Sociology Yokohama 2014, and introduces briefly the series of five papers selected from thirteen papers and their implications.
