Abstract
- The author reflects on the radical changes that occurred in scientific publishing. Topics covered include the use of the bibliographic impact factor (BIF) in determining the quality and relevance of scientific journals, the benefits of reading the "American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE)," and the use of the journal h-index as an alternative to BIF. It also discusses how the journal h-index is used, and the difference between the journal h-index and BIF.
