Abstract

An essay is presented about the poetry of Natasha Trethewey which illustrated the notion of form. Topics discussed include Trethewey's Storyville cycle of poems "Bellocq's Ophelia" as proof text to capture what is appealing and appalling within the iconography of the female body and racialization as a visible formal process.
