Abstract
- The article discusses research which reveal the capability of thymic B cells to mediate central T cell tolerance induction following licensing by thymocytes. It indicates that medullary thymic epithelial cells (mTECs) express the autoimmune regulator (AIRE) protein and mediates the expression of tissue-restricted antigens (TRAs). It reveals that B cells that migrate into thymus are licensed by CD4 SP thymocytes to mediate T cell central tolerance through self-antigen presentation.
