Abstract

Today, more than ever, an aviation manager's purchasing decisions, budget compliance and personnel development are as important to aviation managers' careers as their ability to fly or maintain the aircraft. Programs like the Professional Development Program (PDP) of NBAA weren't available in the early 1970s. Back then if you wanted to learn about managing, you went to night school and tried to adsorb management expertise from your work assignments. As an aviation manager, achieving certification speaks to your peers in the industry while enhancing your image as a professional manager within the executive ranks of your company.
