Abstract: The article discusses the author's claim that Certificates of Possessory Title (CPTs) are a sensible addition to Minnesota's Torrens (registered property land records) system as of 2013. Water and riparian rights in Minnesota are mentioned, along with complex land title recording and registration issues. Minnesota legislation and real estate title-related abstract systems are examined, as well as Minnesota Statutes and the state's Legislature.
