Abstract
- The article discusses hybridity of media and cultural and aesthetic exchange between the West and East Asia. Anime series Afro Samurai (2007) and Aaron McGruder's animated series the Boondocks (2005) is the example of the blend of the Japanese-style animation and intertextuality. Phenomenon of transnational media exchange and consumption illustrates known as “pop cosmopolitanism," as defined by professor Henry Jenkins, is discussed.
